Denmark: Places To Visit
With such an extended history Denmark has a great many places to interest to visit, below are just a slection.
Copenhagen Zealand Funen Jutland
The capital city is packed with historic buildlings, museums and monuments.
Four of the most unique attractions are the Guiness World record Museum, Ripleys Believe it or Not museum, Hans Christian Andersens Wonderful World and The mystic exploratorium, which explores natural but strange phenomenon. Christianborg Palace is home to the National Parliament and several museums, Rosenborg Slot is a Dutch renaissance Palace. The Carlsberg Brewery offers tours showing the Danish brewing process and a free beer at the end. Tivoli is a world renowned theme park for a day of fun, although it is a little expensive.
Christiania is an area of 85 acres within the city of Copenhagen. The area was started over 30 years by hippy or free thinkin individuals. Christiania residents and the Danish government have had many clashes, primarily over drugs. Hash is widely available on a stret in the area known as "pusher street". But city residents seem to tolerate the area. There are interesting sights to see in the area including houses built on stilts over a small lake.

The coast north of Copenhagen is known as the "Danish Riviera" this is were the wealthy of Denmark live, in the area is the Karen Blixen Museum (famous for Out of Africa), and Louisiana, modern art museum.
Helsingor is home of Elsinore Castle which is a UNESCO world heritage site and the home of Hamlet, or at least the prince Shakespear based Hamlet on.
Roskilde is the home to Europe's biggest open air rock event, but there has also been a community here since pre-historic times. The Viking Ship Museum is one of the highlights.

Funen is connected to Jutland by bridges, it is known as the "Garden or Denmark". It is home to some of the countries finest castles and Manor houses.
Odense
Odense is the only industrial base on the island, and one of the oldest settlements but is famous as the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. There is also iron age settlements just outside the town.
Egeskov Castle (Oak-forset Castle) is a moated renaissance castle with stunning gardens.
Ribe
Ribe has two viking museums, and the domkirke which historically dates back to 856. The interior of the church has been ransacked in the 17th century .
Legoland is close to the village of Billund, which is built of some 45 million bricks.
Arhus
Arhus is regarded as the cultural capital of Denmark. The city is small and friendly, places to visit include an 11th century crypt church, viking museum, women's museum, Mosegard prehistoric museum. Plus more than 50 16th to 18th century buidligns which have been reconstructed in a specially landscaped area., known as the Old Town Museum.
