Highlights of China
8 days, Starts: Beijing, China Ends: Shanghai, China
Experience the major highlights of China, from Beijing to Shanghai, in this eight day tour, bursting with famous sights. We explore the capital Beijing – from the Imperial Forbidden City, China’s centre of power for over 500 years, Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven and the Lama Temple, to the small traditional alleyways of the Hutongs, typical of the old parts of Beijing, and an important part of China’s culture. We walk along the spectacular Great Wall of China at Mutianyu, and visit the Ming Tombs before heading to Xi’an. Here we visit the City Wall, the Wild Goose Pagoda, Banpo Museum, and of course the two thousand year old Army of Terracotta Warriors, unearthed in 1974. From Xi’an we fly to the trading port of Shanghai, formerly known as “the Paris of the East”, built on the trade of opium, silk and tea. Here we visit the fabulous Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Gardens and the Bund Area, Shanghai’s most famous mile.

Chinese Kites, Warriors & Pandas FAMILY TOUR

An action packed tour that takes in not only the major highlights of China, but also includes a Chinese noodle making lesson, kite flying, pandas, acrobatic and kung fu shows. We walk along the Great Wall of China, marvelling at its length. In Beijing we explore the Forbidden City, Tian’an Men Square and the Summer Palace, fly kites with the local children, visit the Pandas at Beijing Zoo, take a tour of the hutongs, and watch a Kung Fu Show. Next stop is Xi’an, where we wander through the bustling Muslim Quarter, cycle along the City Wall looking down over Xi’an and learn how to make Chinese noodles. We visit the Terracotta Army, each warrior with its own unique features, and learn how the army was unearthed after 2000 years of burial. From Xi’an we fly to Shanghai, and visit the Yu Gardens, the Bund Area and Shanghai Museum. We cruise along the Huangpu River, ascend the TV Tower, explore the Children’s Palace, and spend an evening at an Acrobatic Show.

South China Explorer
14 days, starts: Kunming, China, Ends: Hong Kong, China
Starting in Kunming we set off on an adventure which offers busy markets, history and culture along with an exciting trek though one of the deepest gorges in the world. From Kunming we take a full day to look round the astonishing lime pillars and pinnacles of the Stone Forest. Then its on to Dali and an optional boat trip on the Erhai Lake and visit to the Ancient City. We head down to the depths of the Tiger Leaping Gorge, 16 km long and 3,900m deep. We take a memorable trek through stunning scenery to Daju, with beautiful views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and then we rest our feet with free time in Lijiang. From Lijiang we fly via Kunming to Guilin, and then explore the colourful city of Longsheng and the nearby Dragons Backbone Rice Terraces. The lively night markets are also well worth a visit. We head to Yangshou, set amongst stunning limestone peaks, the perfect opportunity to relax and shop for a few souvenirs and also enjoy a cruise on the Li River. A comfortable overnight train will then take us to Guangzhou, commonly known as Canton and one of China's most prosperous cities, our last stop on the mainland before we end our tour in the famous metropolis of Hong Kong.

Walk along the Great Wall of China, visit grottoes, temples and tombs, and cruise the Yangtze River on this trip from Beijing to the busy port of Shanghai. The tour starts with a walk along the Great Wall at Mutianyu, and then explores the capital Beijing, from the Imperial Forbidden City to the Summer Palace and Tiananmen Square. We travel overnight by train to Zhengzhou where we visit the Provincial Museum, before continuing on to Kaifeng and the Iron Pagoda and Dragon Pavilion. We explore the Shaolin Monastery and Pagoda Forest before arriving at Luoyang, home to the Longmen Grottoes. Next stop Xi’an where we visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and City Wall. Wander through the bustling Muslim Quarter before going back in time with a visit to the amazing ranks of the Terracotta Army and Banpo Museum. From Xi’an we fly to Chongqing and cruise down the Yangtze River for three days, sailing through the spectacular 3 Gorges and stopping off along the way to explore the Ghost City of Fengdu. We end our trip in Shanghai and visit the fabulous Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Gardens and the Bund.
